Why Is OTIS Asked to Handle the Most Challenging Manufacturing Requests?

Industry

release:

In recent years, an increasing number of inquiries we receive at OTIS involve
“complexly shaped parts that were rejected by every other supplier.”

By successfully realizing these difficult requests, we have increasingly heard comments like these from our customers:
Component manufacturer:
“Honestly, we asked you thinking it was impossible… We were truly surprised when we saw it actually made.”
Material manufacturer:
“Once it took shape, we were able to justify moving forward with the project internally.”
Research institution:
“This is at a level we can show our clients. Frankly, we were amazed.”

Every time we hear such feedback, we feel that our technology is helping shape our customers’ future.

In-House Development of Both Molds and Equipment

At OTIS, everything—from mold design to press equipment development—is handled entirely in-house.
This allows us to customize our approach based on shape complexity and precision requirements, without being constrained by the limitations of existing equipment.

Examples of Our Achievements Include:

– Managing ultra-fine shape tolerances of less than 0.01 mm

– Automated reel-to-reel supply of laminated components with functions such as ventilation, insulation, and heat resistance

– Yield-optimized designs that minimize material loss

– Converting materials originally available only in sheet form into roll supply through splicing and re-lamination

Are Overseas Companies the Only Competitors Left?

In the field of high-difficulty precision components that we handle, the reality is that domestic competitors in Japan have become increasingly scarce.

Instead, our competitors today are often processing companies and equipment manufacturers in China, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Entering an Era of Co-Creation

We believe that in Japan today, it is no longer necessary to view companies in the same industry strictly as competitors.
Rather, division of roles and co-creation, leveraging each company’s strengths, will elevate the entire industry.

If you find yourself saying:

– “We were told this shape is impossible elsewhere.”

– “The customer changed the specifications, and our equipment can’t support it anymore.”

Please feel free to consult with OTIS.
